This week, 沃拉沃拉大学’s drama program will present its annual 短片节. The show features eight student projects, including short films and one stage production. The show will run May 16, 19, and 23 at 7 p.m. with a late evening showing on May 18 at 9 p.m. The show will be held at the Donnie Rigby Stage in the Canaday Technology Center.
This year’s show features student directors Sam Hodges, 瑞安史密斯, 科尔比别墅, 托比Pitton, Caeden罗杰斯, 布莱恩•哈里斯, 泰勒韦伯斯特, 和内特·范柯克. Audience members may also recognize familiar campus faces such as Brian Schaffner, assistant professor of accounting; and James Foster, associate professor of computer science.
Beyond the experience of bringing a show or film to life for an audience, the 短片节 also allows students to gain expert insight into their work. All productions are evaluated by an outside adjudicator, who is an expert from the field, and the directors each receive feedback.
The 短片节 has been an annual tradition at WWU for 63 years. The annual festival is part of wwudrama’s mission to produce uplifting, 有创意的, and meaningful theater for the campus and the community while teaching students the power of the performing arts.
Tickets cost $12, and WWU faculty, staff, and student tickets cost $10. Seniors also receive a discount. Tickets are available now at talbertfenceanddeck.com/drama. The Canaday Technology Center is located at 306 SW Fourth St.书院广场. The entrance for the Donnie Rigby Stage is to the left of the blue awning.
